Walking around our school, we found this fascinating tree. Have you noticed how its trunks “hug” themselves?
Its scientific name is Celtis Australis L.. It’s a mediterranean tree that can live for almost 400-500 years and it has 20-25m height.
In the past, this tree was used to build weagons and gun-stocks. Due to the flexibility and endurance of its wood, it is still used for basketwork.
What about you, have you got any special tree in your school?
Last week, May 9th, we celebrated the European Day with some activities in our school . We had a great exhibition showing all the countries that belong to the European Union. There was a section were students could learn(or review) some history about the EU.
Our school is “bloomimg”!
Look at our Cercis Siliquastrum, known as Judas-Tree or European Redbud.
Isn’t it so beautiful?
I am an Ash Tree. How about you? Some of our students are working on this “getting to know yourself” project.
We shall publish this work as soon as possible.
Do you really know yourself?
Well, we give you the chance to know more about you and your personality..
Here is a good webpage that tells you who you really are. You can choose the Celtic Horoscope and find the tree that matches with your sign.
We have just received your usernames and password and we are trying them out. The class sends Hello:) We have a QUIZ about trees for you and a short film about our school.
We would like to thank all the students who have been exchanging information here. Let us keep in touch! It is great to learn about each other.
Our school has a very large population and it is surrounded by green recesses where we can sit and chat for a while. As Spring is about to arrive, it is possible for us to attend joyous concerts where different bird species greet us. We are preparing some project works to let you know about trees in Portugal. How about trees in Spain and in Poland?
Please, do keep in touch with us! :0)
